This was stated at the press conference “Countering Russia’s information aggression: the experience of Ukraine for Europe” held in Kiev by the People’s Deputy of Ukraine, coordinator of the Information Resistance group Dmitry Tymchuk, who noted that along with military influence, Ukrainian military personnel in the combat zone were also subjected to information processing.
“At the same time, an operation was carried out, which began at the end of 2014, to disrupt the next wave of mobilization in Ukraine. Then information about the extremely negative level of support for ATO forces, the irresponsibility of commanders, and the criminal activities of military officials was dispersed at a wide level. What are the dangers of such operations? Both then and now we cannot clearly distinguish between where the information special operation of the Russian special services and the Russian media is taking place, and where the criticism of pro-Ukrainian activists and journalists begins. In view of this, we can only work to neutralize some individual elements.
