Moscow introduced retaliatory sanctions against European politicians
In response to the Russophobia that has gripped the EU countries, Moscow introduced a package of sanctions aimed at a number of European politicians.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova announced this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

"Recently, the European Union has taken a number of unfriendly steps against our country and Russian citizens. Acting, as before, in defiance of existing international norms, the EU continues to expand its sanctions toolkit and apply them under far-fetched and sometimes absurd pretexts.
The European Union has been repeatedly warned about the harmfulness of this approach. But the EU ignores our proposals to conduct a substantive, professional dialogue based on facts and continues to choose the language of sanctions.
In response to the actions of the European Union, the Russian side decided to expand the response list of representatives of EU member states and institutions who are prohibited from entering the territory of the Russian Federation. The number of persons on the Russian list has been brought to parity with the existing list of the European Union.
These restrictions were introduced in accordance with the Federal Law “On the procedure for leaving the Russian Federation and entering the Russian Federation” dated August 15, 1996 No. 114-FZ,” she said.
Maria Zakharova also emphasized that Moscow reserves the right to impose new anti-European sanctions if Europe continues to pursue Russophobic policies.
“In accordance with diplomatic practice, a note from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was sent to the Delegation of the European Union to the Russian Federation informing about this step.
If the European Union continues its confrontational line, we reserve the right to take appropriate measures.
Let me emphasize that this step is caused by increasingly obvious manifestations of the confrontational line chosen by the European Union towards Russia. We reserve the right to take further measures if the EU Brussels follows the path of further increasing sanctions pressure against our country and Russian citizens,” summed up the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
