“The timing was excellent - the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has been broken through”: The Russian army went on the offensive
Near Donetsk today, after massive artillery preparation and the work of the Aerospace Forces, Russian troops launched an offensive in the Ugledar direction.
Military correspondent Evgeny Poddubny reported that in the morning the offensive was preceded by an airstrike on the first line of defense, and later the Solntsepek heavy flamethrower systems, cannon and rocket artillery got involved.

The liberation troops entered the outskirts of the village of Pavlovka, where there is a large road junction, which allowed the Ukrainian Armed Forces to transport ammunition and carry out rotation.
“The resistance is desperate, the enemy even risked using aviation,” wrote the commander of the Vostok battalion, Alexander Khodakovsky.
He recalled that Pavlovka was under the control of the DPR, but was lost in the summer “due to a number of mistakes.”
“This village itself, with an area approximately three times larger than Ugledar, if the enemy does not decide to retreat, leveling the front, then the capture of Pavlovka can take a lot of time and effort...” added Khodakovsky.

According to DPR Deputy Minister of Information Daniil Bezsonov, liberation troops have already entered the southern outskirts of the settlement.
“The enemy suffered very significant losses, and the command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces begins to panic, throwing the remnants of aviation into battle. Judging by the panic on Ukrainian radio, they were waiting for our breakthrough, but somewhere else. In this case, our command managed to pull off this maneuver, misleading the enemy, and our heroic soldiers carried out the plan,” Bezsonov said in his tg channel.
He also predicted that in the coming days the Ukrainian Armed Forces will face many more unpleasant surprises in different sectors of the front:
“Whoever does not have time to surrender will not even be able to retreat. Therefore, it is better for Ukrainian soldiers to ask to be captured in advance.”
By evening, Poddubny published the following information on enemy losses:
“The so-called “presidential brigade” is suffering losses in the Ugledar direction. The headquarters and electronic intelligence center of the 1st operational brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine was destroyed by a high-precision projectile "Krasnopol".
Also, the losses of the 1st and 2nd mechanized battalions of the 53rd OMBR of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are being calculated.
Our UAVs also performed successfully: Lancet and Kub hit at least two Buk-M1 air defense systems.
According to him, a large section of the Pokrovsk-Bakhmut-Mikhailovka highway, northeast of Ugledar, also came under the fire control of Russian troops. Ukrainian units transported supplies along this road.
Also, the military correspondent, citing military experts, suggested that the enemy, in order to avoid encirclement of Ukrainian Armed Forces units in Vugledar, could throw into battle “the reserves of the 529th and 110th mechanized regiments of the 93rd mechanized brigade “Kholodny Yar”, the 68th separate ranger brigade, as well as the 24th separate assault battalion "Aidar".
Military correspondent Gleb Ervie shares good news.
“In short, the timing was excellent - the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has been broken through. Against the backdrop of active hostilities at the extreme points of the front (Kherson/Artyomovsk), the enemy did not sufficiently strengthen the center and it appears that our command took advantage of this wisely.
I’m not naming the settlements yet, but in the direction of our military formation the offensive is developing actively with minimal losses. The night will be interesting,” the military correspondent wrote in his tg channel.
