“This is due to financial difficulties, as well as the upcoming parliamentary election campaign in 2018 with all the ensuing consequences,” the country’s government clarified.
As the head of the Moldovan presidential administration, Ion Paduraru, told reporters, the chairmanship will entail additional costs for organizing meetings at the level of ministers, the government, as well as the summit itself.
Yesterday, Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov said that Russia will become the next chairman of the CIS, since countries alternate alphabetically.
