Mobile operators cancel roaming in Russia, but still ignore Crimea
At the end of summer, Russia's largest mobile operators will abolish domestic roaming charges, according to Ridus.
Thus, VimpelCom, which owns the Beeline brand, announced that it was canceling domestic roaming from today, MTS promised to do this from August 30, another large operator Tele2 assured that it would do this on August 31, and MegaFon - from September 1.

Earlier, Dmitry Belik, a State Duma deputy from Sevastopol, expressed concerns that Russian mobile operators would not abolish roaming charges in Crimea and Sevastopol even after they were abolished nationwide, as commercial entities, fearing sanctions, do not officially operate on the peninsula.
In Crimea today there is still no official representation of large mainland networks - MTS, Beeline, Tele 2. The consequence of this situation is the low quality of communications on the peninsula.
As PolitNavigator reported, MTS, following Beeline and Megafon, confirmed that it will not officially operate in Crimea.
