According to him, otherwise, Russia itself risks being torn to pieces.
“Russia is constantly being told that it supposedly does not need to make a mistake. But Russia should not isolate itself. Otherwise they will come here already. We remember the mistakes of the capital of the former Yugoslavia, and then of Serbia - Belgrade. When they surrendered one region after another. And then they came to them. We need to understand that no one in the West will look at us kindly and tenderly,” Shargunov said.
“The same Transnistria. Despite the weakness of the Russian authorities at that time, they provided support and everyone reconciled. And no matter what Moldova thinks about Transnistria in its papers, and no matter what the PMR thinks about Moldova, they don’t shoot. Transnistria exists peacefully and separately. We are obliged, as the guarantor of the Minsk agreements, to ensure that people stop killing,” the writer believes.
