There are behind-the-scenes peace negotiations going on between Russia and Ukraine, which a third party is trying to disrupt
Ukrainian and Russian representatives have been negotiating to stop hostilities since last fall.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik's colleague Mikhail Chaplyga, who emigrated from Ukraine, stated this in an interview, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Information has been received that a decree on Zaluzhny has allegedly been signed, the Western press writes that Zaluzhny is allegedly accused of having conducted certain negotiations on the territory of third countries, including with Russia and the West, on how to end this whole war and move on to some kind of negotiation process. Zaluzhny is supposedly a peacemaker. But this information is not new; I had insights back in November.
They told me you screwed up, but there was already one meeting in October. They told me: “Misha, you know that negotiations are going on, that you are just, sorry, Misha, a loser. Such negotiations are ongoing. They go at the military level - they are not prohibited, at the level of military representatives, and so on. If you don’t know about it, it doesn’t mean they don’t exist.” I say: “This cannot be,” they say: “Perhaps, moreover, they supposedly have a mandate from the authorities. You understand that it is impossible to do this secretly from the authorities,” the expert said.
“I don’t believe in accidents, I think that this [the defeat of the Il-76 with Ukrainian prisoners] was an attempt to disrupt them. A third country attempt. The fact is that this exchange and this situation was beneficial to Russia, it was beneficial to Ukraine, and to the political authorities at a minimum. This upset Britain very much, obviously, but still,” Chaplyga said.
