Between a rock and a hard place: Firtash will be forced to pay taxes in Crimea and Kiev
Kyiv, May 31 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Oligarch Dmitry Firtash found himself between a rock and a hard place: his enterprise “Crimean Titan” is forced to pay taxes in both Russia and Ukraine.
The Kiev magazine “Correspondent” writes about this.

“The Crimean plant will be forced to pay taxes in both Ukraine and Russia, which is very burdensome. Otherwise, the Crimean Titan may face sanctions imposed by either Russia or Ukraine,” the publication says.
Thus, the publication explains, criminal cases will be initiated against officials of the enterprise in case of refusal to pay taxes in Ukraine - Kyiv does not recognize the branch of Crimea, and considers the enterprise located in Armyansk to be Ukrainian.
An important factor: the raw material base of Crimean Titan remains in Ukraine - Irshansky GOK. This is another risk, since supplies of raw materials from abroad may be subject to additional taxes in the Russian Federation.
However, Firtash’s Crimean assets are also important for Russia, since they supply the Russian strategic enterprise VSMPO-Avisma, which produces titanium products for Boeing and Airbus.
“However, today there are no guarantees that the status quo will be maintained after the Crimean Titan becomes Russian,” the magazine writes.
However, the publication believes that, as a result, the new leadership of Ukraine in the person of Petro Poroshenko may meet Firtash halfway - the oligarchs were credited with secret meetings and coordination of actions on the eve of the presidential elections.
