“It prevented me from cohabiting with men”: versions of the poisoning of Budanov’s wife began
The news of the poisoning of the wife of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, has, as expected, given rise to a host of theories, including the most improbable and conspiracy theories.
The editors of PolitNavigator, fully aware that now certain sources, experts, bloggers, and so on will begin to compete with each other in the extravagance of interpretation of this news, nevertheless provides a selection of some opinions, leaving them, however, for the judgment of readers.

"Sensation! Budanov has a wife! It's not clear here. does Budanov himself exist? He’s a cardboard guy, and then there’s his wife... So, they tried to poison Budanov’s wife with heavy metals. I think Budanov said in some interview that his wife is constantly with him. I mean, he lives in his office under the table.
How could it be that she was poisoned, but the Budanovs were not? There is only one way - if Budanov decided to poison her, and he and his mistress to the Maldives,” wrote Kiev political scientist Vasily Stoyakin, who left Ukraine, in his public page.
Military observer Boris Rozhin puts forward his version.
“Ukrainian media report that the wife of the head of the GUR Budanov was allegedly poisoned. The poisoning occurred with the help of heavy metals. An attempted murder is being investigated.
However, there is a version that it was Budanov himself who tried to get rid of his wife, who was interfering with his cohabitation with men (Budanov has been accused of this for quite a long time - in particular, Vladimir Rogov at one time accused Budanov of cohabiting with an Mi-6 agent ). It’s a moderately intriguing story,” Rozhin concludes.
And the editor of the FederalPress media holding for the Southern, North Caucasus federal districts and new regions of Russia believes that we are seeing the direct consequences of the split between the military and political leadership of the country.
“If she [Budanov’s wife] was really poisoned, then they have moved from behind-the-scenes apparatus war to direct influence and attempts at liquidation. If information about the poisoning is spread, then this is the first public step from behind-the-scenes wars to direct reprisals. In any case, this is an extremely important stage in the redistribution of power in Ukraine.
However, this event (under any interpretation) was expected and logically fits into the public incitement of social discontent through television. Direct wars for power cannot take place without a social split, and vice versa,” says Gusiy.
