Mejlis member Umerov hopes that “Russian justice in Crimea is very temporary”
The head of the Bakhchisaray Majlis, Ilmi Umerov, expressed the hope that Crimea’s stay within Russia is “very temporary.”
He said this during his visit to Kyiv in an interview with the ATR TV channel, commenting on his summons for interrogation in the case of clashes near the Supreme Council of Crimea, etc.
“The only thing we can hope for is that Russian justice in Crimea is very temporary,” Umerov said.

According to him, life in Crimea is getting worse.
“Nothing is being done to make the people love Russia and swear allegiance to it. Not only the Crimean Tatar people. The entire population of Crimea. Neither pensions nor salaries have increased so much that we can talk about it. And if also through the dollar exchange rate, then they have decreased,” says Umerov.
It is noteworthy that at the same time Umerov noted the peaceful coexistence of supporters and opponents of the Russian Federation in Bakhchisarai.
“Even those people whom we called “vatniks” who took part in the preparation of the referendum, when I enter the administration, everyone comes up and says hello, personal respect has been preserved. In general, in Crimea this amazing moment is present - having different political views, people have learned to coexist,” Umerov said.
“Well, this is still left from Ukraine. In Russia, other political views are not welcome, to put it mildly,” suggested presenter Aider Muzhdabaev.
