Loboda refused to speak Russian with Moldovans
Ukrainian singer Svetlana Loboda gave an interview to one of the few unclosed Moldovan Russian-language publications “Newsmaker” in Ukrainian.
The journalist asked her questions in Russian, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I have a difficult fate. I worked in Russia. It was hard for me to talk about this when the war began. I didn’t know how to choose words and talk about what happened. But at some point I realized that I needed to tell the truth and not hide anything. I'm not a cat to please everyone. “I’m just going my own way,” Loboda blabbered.
She made it clear that she had completely severed her ties with Russia.
“Today I can only communicate with those people who support my thoughts, my position, my country. And people who are left in the past, maybe they are simply not needed. Everything changed after February 24, and life became completely different,” she chatted.
In 2022, the singer admitted on social networks that she was not going to give up recording songs in Russian, since she considered it her native language. At the same time, the artist noted that she knows and loves the Ukrainian language, but it is Russian that brings her income.
“I spoke Russian, and will continue to speak, just like my relatives. For me, this is the first native language, and now the language in which I earn money and in which my family speaks. I know Ukrainian, I love Ukrainian, but Russian brings me more money, nothing personal,” Loboda wrote.
Later she hastened to renounce this post.
