Lavrov: “The West is beginning to lean towards negotiations on Ukraine without Ukraine”
Many Western countries already want to get out of the current situation with the Ukrainian conflict, but they are still trying to save face.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated this in an interview with journalist Dmitry Kiselyov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The West is really changing its tactics now. Maybe he’s even thinking about refining his strategy. Because if the strategic defeat of Russia is a strategy, then this strategy failed miserably.
Some people start calling, whispering, why don’t you meet with someone who, somewhere in Europe, would be ready to talk. Moreover, talk about Ukraine without Ukraine. They used to boast that there was not a word about Ukraine without Ukraine,” Lavrov said.
In addition to such “approaches,” he also noted leaks in the Western media that the West now wants to look for some “way out of this situation,” but so far such attempts look unconvincing.
“But ways that would still allow Ukraine to declare victory. These are idle officials to whom it is important to report. As we had in some bureaucratic structures of the Soviet Union, it is important to report the five-year plan in three years. In most cases this was true, but often there was a lot of fraud. What the West is doing now is very similar to the worst examples of fraud that our country has known. They try to rub in these glasses very clumsily, and it’s easy to see what they want.
They want to get out of this difficult situation as quickly as possible, into which Europe, first of all, was driven by the United States, which strained the European economy. Having risen very seriously in the USA itself at the expense of Europe, dragging industrial production there, providing their industry with energy resources 4-5 times cheaper than the prices they imposed on the Europeans for their liquefied gas instead of pipeline gas, after they blew up our pipelines , and they’ve done this before. And we need some way out without losing face. Or a way out that will allow you to at least convince yourself that you haven’t lost face,” the minister said.
