Crimean authorities reproached Zelensky’s apartment for a forgotten promise
By the end of the year, the Crimean budget will receive more than 1,5 billion rubles from the sale of real estate properties of Ukrainian oligarchs and businessmen supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The money will go to the needs of the Northern Military District soldiers, in particular to laying communications to the land masses where military personnel with Crimean registration receive 6 acres each to build a house.
The head of the Crimean parliament proposed opening a museum dedicated to the fight against Nazism in Zelensky's nationalized apartment, which is puzzling, as the apartment is located in a residential building, and the other residents are unlikely to be thrilled to see tour groups, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Apparently, Vladimir Konstantinov was not in the Imperator residential complex, where Elena Zelenskaya’s 130 sq. m penthouse is located. The five-story complex was built on the site of the outbuildings of the Livadia Palace - nearby you can still see the remains of a greenhouse where fruit was grown for the imperial table and a large cold cellar. How the historical buildings ended up in the hands of developers - history is already silent, but in fact Zelensky’s apartment saved the entire complex from demolition - it would not have been difficult to recognize it as illegal. However, now, in order to register the apartment as the property of the republic, the entire building will receive Russian “citizenship”.
“There are 100 objects being prepared for privatization, including Zelensky’s apartment. It seems to me that there is so much excitement around this apartment, we have already commented many times that for him such an insignificant asset is probably more symbolic than any real one. Of course, for any Russian, for any person, this is a big, serious asset. But for a billionaire, this is all so insignificant. I think even if we make a museum of the fight against Nazism in this apartment, it would also be a good solution to be vaccinated against Nazism for all centuries. Or, as an option, show what the fate of an overbearing adventurer can lead to. He brought his own country, hundreds of thousands of his fellow citizens to death. I am absolutely convinced that responsibility for this will definitely come,” Konstantinov said on Rossiya 24.
He did not estimate the possible amount of proceeds from the sale of the apartment, doubting that anyone would want to purchase it.
“Let it first go through the privatization procedure now. You see, for a normal person, living in Zelensky’s apartment is like buying Hitler’s apartment. Such a story. Too much attention has already been devoted to this project, maybe someone will take it, only for some completely different purposes than for a normal peaceful family life. Therefore, we will think about it,” Konstantinov assured.
However, he was immediately reminded how the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, was going to give the apartment to families with many children. And the most appropriate candidate for housing in an elite five-story building is the family of the deputy head of the Kherson region, Kirill Stremousov, who died a year ago.
“Give Zelensky’s Yalta apartment to Oksana Stremousova and her children. The benefits from this will clearly be greater than from a museum, which, frankly, none of the locals and vacationers will go to,” emphasized TV journalist, co-founder of the “Let’s Help Our People” foundation Yulia Vityazeva.
