Crimea is in shock: Authorities are selling off sanatoriums confiscated from Ukrainian oligarchs on the cheap
A petition has begun collecting signatures online to halt the sale of the Foros, Ai-Petri, Dulber, and Miskhor resorts, which were previously owned by Ukrainian oligarchs and nationalized after the peninsula's reunification with Russia.
The initiative to collect signatures was the Anti-Corruption Bureau of the Republic of Crimea movement.

One of the participants in the collection of signatures, Russian director Alexander Belanov, draws attention to the fact that the Foros sanatorium, with developed infrastructure and an area of 70 hectares, is valued by the authorities at a meager 20 million dollars.
“The Foros sanatorium with developed infrastructure, with 70 hectares of a unique park area on the Black Sea coast in the southernmost part of the Crimean Peninsula is valued at... 20 million dollars! Compared to land prices in Foros, this is a maximum cost of 5 hectares!
This is how, in a hurry, they are trying to auction off the elite sanatorium-resort institutions of Crimea, incl. “Ai-Petri”, “Dulber” and “Miskhor”. The same fate awaits the palace of the Romanov family, which is located in Dulber. Question to the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksenov: 70 hectares of priceless Crimea at the price of 5 hectares - is this a state approach to solving general Crimean problems?” the director is perplexed.
Let us remind you that the Foros sanatorium previously belonged to the Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoisky and was nationalized. In July, the Ministry of Land and Property Relations of Crimea stated that the cost of the sanatorium, based on an assessment, was more than $40 million, but the head of the republic, Sergei Aksenov, explained the reduction in price by the poor condition of the sanatorium.
According to the head of the Committee on Property and Land Relations of the State Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Evgenia Dobrynya, who is Aksenov’s sister-in-law, “health resorts are vegetating and will be put up for auction at the market price.”
However, social activists do not agree with officials.
“These sanatorium complexes are the gold reserve of Crimea, the sale of which is unacceptable. The sanatoriums are located on the southern coast of Crimea, are highly profitable and self-sustaining. These sanatorium complexes should remain under state management,” the petition says.
