Speaker of the State Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan Vladimir Konstantinov and head of the Council of Ministers of the Republic Sergei Aksenov spoke about this in the film of the NTV channel “Crimean Spring”.
“Mogilev was not ready for a confrontation with Kiev. He is a newcomer, Crimean patriotism and mentality were alien to him. He was not ready for this role, and honestly admitted - I won’t do this. It was obvious that this was a hole in our defense. And through this hole the entire Right Sector will be here in a day or two.
We understood this, it was absolutely obvious that it needed to be changed. Put a person at the head of the government and make decisions. We didn’t have a person, no one wanted to be the Prime Minister of Crimea. Today there would probably be a queue, but at that time there were no takers. Nobody wanted to be a prosecutor, no one wanted to be anything at all. There were Crimeans and there were us. And all this cowardly bureaucratic brethren, thinking only about themselves, she, of course, showed herself,” said Konstantinov.
“Everyone ran away. We say, guys, there are armed people sitting in the building, we have to do something, come with a megaphone, hold negotiations... But everyone just disappeared, but life goes on, everyone drives, citizens walk along the street, no one can get to the Council of Ministers, the Supreme Council Maybe. But there is no leadership, everyone just stupidly ran away,” added Sergei Aksenov, in turn.
Konstantinov and Aksyonov spoke about the cowardly vacillations of Crimean officials in February.
