Klimkin: “To prevent Putin from attacking, it is necessary to delay the completion of SP-2 for six months”
The new parliamentary coalition in Germany, which will come to power after parliamentary elections in September this year, will have to take into account the interests of Ukraine and stop Nord Stream 2.
Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin announced this on Channel 4, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“There is a chance to delay the construction of Nord Stream 2 for six months, until a new coalition comes to Germany. And it will definitely be new, but nevertheless it will be different, most likely with the participation of the “greens”. There will be difficult legal issues related to the exit from Nord Stream 2, but at least stop this project until all the details are known and the interests of Ukraine, including security, are one hundred percent taken into account.
Because if there is no transit, then we become not an element of transit, but an element of diversification, then what prevents Putin from going forward? And he does all these round dances around Ukraine, look at the Russian media. We need to take advantage of every security opportunity. But all this does not mean that the threat around us will disappear somewhere,” Klimkin said.
As a reminder, the US previously announced that Nord Stream 2 would be completed , as the project was supported by a number of German political forces and businesses.
