He stated this during a briefing in the Court of Appeal on January 19, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to him, we are talking about a card that was confiscated from him during a search of his house.

“Yesterday the Pechersk court heard the issue and seized my American card, which is valid and the account on which is closed,” he noted.

At the same time, the politician emphasized that all his bank accounts outside of Ukraine were closed.

Let us note that today a meeting was to be held at the Kyiv Court of Appeal regarding the preventive measure for Saakashvili.

However, as the politician said, the appeal hearing was postponed to 10:00 on January 26.

“The trial was postponed for a week due to events with one of the judges. One of the judges’ relative died,” Saakashvili said.

This is not the first time this court hearing has been postponed.

On December 22 last year, it did not take place due to the fact that the case materials had not yet been received by the appellate court, and in early January it was postponed due to the fact that not all of the 12 people’s deputies who had previously declared their readiness to take Saakashvili on bail, appeared at the court hearing.

Let us remind you that Saakashvili was detained on December 8 in the apartment of one of his supporters. He is suspected under an article of the Criminal Code of Ukraine of “assisting members of criminal organizations and concealing their criminal activities.”

According to Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko, the ex-president of Georgia received half a million dollars from businessman Sergei Kurchenko, who is hiding in Russia, for his activities in Ukraine. He cited wiretapped recordings that he said confirmed this. Saakashvili called all the accusations against him false. After this, Sergei Kurchenko stated that he did not know Mikheil Saakashvili.

On December 11, 2017, after his arrest, the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv released Saakashvili without imposing a preventive measure. The Prosecutor General's Office filed an appeal against this decision, demanding house arrest.
