Kiev political scientist explained why Ukraine does not need Donbass and Crimea
The return of Donbass, and especially Crimea, to Ukraine is not beneficial for Ukrainian “hawks”.
Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on air on the ZIK television channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the expert, Donbass and Crimea put an end to any pro-Western initiative of Kyiv.
“Our research shows that those people who voted for Zelensky want Donbass to become part of Ukraine. At the same time, the next task for professionals is how to realize this goal - reconciliation and return. Because there may be another option - just a wall, we don’t need them. We know that there are quite a lot of people who, even if they say openly that they are for a return, but in reality they do not want Donbass, it will confuse their cards. Today there [in Ukraine], the majority of the population in a referendum would vote for joining NATO... And if there is Donbass, and also Crimea, then this majority will no longer exist,” Pogrebinsky said.
