"Enough!" – Volodin demanded a tough response from Ukraine
Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin called on deputies to make tougher decisions on Ukraine.
He stated this at today's parliamentary session, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“As for Ukraine, it was necessary to make tougher decisions. Fundamental rights have been compromised. The Communist Party was closed. They fought to ensure that the head of Ukraine, Poroshenko, retained power. Did it help him? No. Opposition media were closed so that Zelensky retained power. Did it help? Did not help. Now they are already trying to close down opposition parliamentary parties. This won't help. It can be delayed, but there will be even more problems. Just as the fact that the Orthodox Church was split did not help Poroshenko. And now a people without a language, without faith, without history. This is all a prelude to big problems,” the politician emphasized.
He condemned President Vladimir Zelensky for kowtowing to the United States at the expense of other international relations.
“Where is it, America? Zelensky asks for a meeting, asks for help. But my head didn’t think that I needed to ask for help from my people and their right to defend, to build relations with Russia and other countries. All the problems in Ukraine are due to those who have seized power, are trying to retain it by any means, have unleashed a fratricidal war, nationalist movements have risen to their full potential. Poroshenko, Yushchenko and Zelensky must realize: this is how you can lose your homeland. Our task is to tell everyone once again that we will not allow the rights and freedoms of citizens to be violated, no matter what country it is: Ukraine, European countries, the USA. Enough!” said Volodin.
He believes that Russia should form its attitude towards European countries depending on their position on the Ukrainian issue.
“As for the burned people in Odessa, this issue cannot be removed from control. Those who are guilty of this must be punished. We care,” Volodin concluded.
