“Stop humiliating yourself! Let Trump fly to Moscow and wait for a meeting!”
LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky proposed classifying the schedule of meetings between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, and reporting about the negotiations after they take place, so as not to give enemies the opportunity to disrupt contacts.
Zhirinovsky announced this today at a State Duma meeting, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I would like to appeal from here to the officials of the presidential administration: there is no need to talk about the meeting in advance. When it passes, tell the world. They humiliate us, prepare a meeting, and then there will be no meeting, and we are fools.
If you want to meet, set a time, meet, and then announce, otherwise the whole world will be listening. Every minute they “meet or not meet”, is this some kind of casino?
Where is the respect for your own country? Whoever wants to, let him come to Moscow, and we will meet here. You don’t even need to fly to Washington so that there are no provocations there, otherwise the plane will be turned back halfway, saying that a decision has been made not to accept you.
“Here, in Moscow, like Nixon ( former US President – editor’s note ) sat in the National Hotel and waited for Brezhnev to receive him,” the politician noted.
At the same time, Zhirinovsky urged not to consider Ukraine’s provocation near the Kerch Strait as the real reason for canceling the negotiations between Putin and Trump.
“Yes, there is no connection; even today you cannot understand the underlying reasons. And if there had not been a meeting between Trump and Putin, do you think there would not have been a provocation? It is planned, and there is no connection as to who will meet with whom,” the politician said.
