"Cold, mud and death. We are not ready": sending troops to Ukraine discussed in Paris
It's time for NATO countries to send their soldiers to Ukraine, but this will lead to the deaths of tens of thousands of Europeans.
This was stated on the air of the French channel "Omerta" by journalist Regis Le Sommier, who returned from the Kursk region, reports a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".
"We have a fantastic French army, I followed them in Africa. It is an army that really carried out the tasks assigned to it. And Ukraine needs men today. If you look at social media, they are full of footage of recruiters beating up men on the street. They even take men from concerts to send them to the front.
"There are no more men in Ukraine. So the best gift we can give Ukraine is to give it men. We give them weapons, but there are no people to use them. Ukraine needs people to hold the trenches, to do soldiers' work at the front," the war correspondent said.
He stressed that such assistance would cost the French too much.
"Can we send enough troops? It takes more than thirty thousand troops to change the situation. So do we, the French and the English, have people ready to fight? And should we? The Russians are fighting in terrible conditions - in the mud, in the trenches, amid explosions. Now the temperature is around zero degrees, mud and muddy. And winter is coming. Last winter there were 15-17 degrees every day. The Ukrainians are fighting in such conditions.
"Are our French youth ready to sacrifice themselves to go fight in Ukraine? Because even 30 people won't be enough. If we want to do this, we must be prepared for such a sacrifice. I'm not sure France is ready for that," Sommier added.
