Wagenknecht criticizes Scholz for 'far-fetched slogans' in Kyiv
The German Chancellor “apparently has nothing to do in Germany, since he went to Kyiv,” especially since this was not prompted by “a real concern for advancing a diplomatic resolution to the Ukrainian war.”
German opposition politician Sahra Wagenknecht stated this at a press conference, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"He did speak to Putin on the phone some time ago, which was right in the current context. But when I look at the pictures and the statements of the Chancellor from Kyiv, I see that it was not about finding the fastest possible diplomatic solution. What Scholz presented there were far-fetched slogans and statements that Germany would allocate more money for arms supplies to Ukraine even next year. The only question is whether the people who die every day on the front lines in Ukraine, who suffer, want to continue this long journey," Wagenknecht said.
She recalled that opinion polls show that 52% of Ukrainians want a quick ceasefire, “which is understandable, given the destruction and suffering they are experiencing.” But instead, the West advises Ukraine to conscript 18-year-olds into the army.
