The former head of the Nativ intelligence service, military expert Yakov Kedmi, stated this in an interview with Israeli journalist Alexander Waldman, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Commenting on the strike by a Russian underwater drone on a bridge in Odessa, Kedmi noted that this was a fairly routine operation.
“What is happening on the territory of Ukraine is ordinary hostilities. They happened not because the Russian fleet suddenly had such an opportunity, but because they received permission to do so. If they had received permission for other, more complex operations, they would have carried them out,” the expert said.
He emphasized that, if necessary, the Russian fleet is capable of completely cutting off communications between the United States and Europe, as well as bringing down a significant part of the world Internet.
“If the Russian fleet receives an order to blow up all the oil pipelines that lead from the United States to Europe, they will blow them up. If they receive an order to blow up all communication cables between the US and Europe, they will blow them up. The question is not their professional skills and abilities, but whether they will be given such an order.
