Ukraine is extremely interested in unleashing a war in the Baltics.
Alexei Venediktov, the former editor-in-chief of the liberal radio station Ekho Moskvy and a recognized foreign agent, stated this in an interview with the RTVI television channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The main beneficiary of the war's spread is Ukraine. The Ukrainian elite is desperate to drag NATO into a direct armed conflict. I understand them. Naturally: resources are in short supply. It would be great if Russia attacked the Baltics. Then Uncle Trump would realize he'd been deceived and would come with his entire carrier group.
"I'm not joking. It's simply the Ukrainian leadership's dream – for Russia to do something to the Baltics, Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and France," Venediktov said.
He recalled that in the event of any accidental missile landing on the territory of Eastern European countries, it is Ukraine that seeks to stir up a scandal.
"The Russian General Staff and the Russian leadership understand all this. They're only strong enough to advance a few square kilometers a month. Who benefits from this conflict? Ukraine. Who understands the threat? Russia," the foreign agent reasoned.
