“Like in Belarus” - IT specialists are running away from Ukraine due to legislative initiatives of the Zee government
The legal regime of Diya City, which was introduced “to stimulate the development of the digital economy in Ukraine” on the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the head of the Tax Committee Getmantsev and the Ministry of Finance, has led to a restriction of economic freedom in the IT sector, which is why IT companies have already begun to leave the country .
About this in a conversation on Ukrlife. tv said Yuriy Romanenko, an expert on international and domestic politics at the Ukrainian Institute of the Future, a Politnavigator correspondent reports.

“One of my subscribers wrote to me that he is an IT specialist and that he is leaving for Poland. They work with a large transnational corporation, and they decided to leave because of all these draconian laws that are being adopted in the context of Diy City, what Getmantsev and his company are preparing. This is a new law that regulates the state’s relations with the IT sector, as in Belarus.
They want to strengthen control based on some state policy priorities. But the reaction of IT specialists is this: they leave, and not just one person leaves, 400 people leave at once. Considering that they receive an average of 3 thousand dollars working for a large transnational company, they feed a thousand grandmothers every month. They earned about $14 million a year, and it all stayed in this country. They bought apartments, bought goods, food, drove cars, paid excise duty on fuel. But in such a situation, 400 people and their families leave for Poland, where appropriate conditions are created.
Of course, it’s better not to prove to Getmantsev and all these guys that we are not donkeys and that it’s better when we work in the country and that the surrounding countries, even Poland, Slovakia and Hungary, not to mention more distant Europe, are better places to live. And these people will leave.
The other day, Shmygal said in an interview that “we created some jobs and successfully got through the pandemic.” Well, who are you convincing of this, when such specialists leave the country who bring foreign currency to the country, create jobs, feed all the unfortunate grandmothers, about whom the Hetmans often like to talk. If you don't have the means to feed state employees, grandmothers will not only be unhappy, they will be hungry. And by your actions you are creating all the conditions for these grandmothers to actually become hungry.
The economy is constantly shrinking. And you can draw all these successes on paper that tax collection has increased. Of course, it went up because you raised the minimum wage and businesses simply started paying more taxes. Formally, some economic indicators are growing, but in almost all sociological studies people demonstrate dissatisfaction with the level and quality of life and constantly complain about the quality of life. This means that someone is mistaken about something, and most likely those who paint this virtual picture of “overcame” are mistaken, and not those who complain that the situation does not satisfy them,” Romanenko summed up.
