How they stormed the prosecutor's office in Donetsk and “scared away” an armored personnel carrier (PHOTO, VIDEO)
Dnepropetrovsk, May 01 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – Supporters of the “Donetsk People’s Republic” stormed the regional prosecutor’s office: the Ukrainian flag and coat of arms were burned, and internal troops were withdrawn through the “corridor of shame.”

As DPR activists explain, the prosecutor’s office was “the last stronghold of the Kyiv junta.” In their opinion, it was from there that orders were given to detain particularly active supporters of the DPR.
First, the protesters, who had previously managed to communicate with the leadership of the city department, went to the prosecutor’s office with “peaceful” sentiments: to find out what was happening to their comrades.
The building was cordoned off by internal troops. The protesters began calling on the military to let them into the building and surrender, asking “if they were with the people.” But the security forces refused.
At some point, activists began to push back the military. After this, the internal troops opened fire with traumatic weapons, flash-noise grenades were fired, and tear gas was fired. Although, according to the official version of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, provocateurs who got into the crowd of protesters shot and threw grenades.
In response, stones were thrown towards the cordon of internal troops. Some of the protesters later admitted that they also fired shots.
The police retreated and barricaded themselves in the building. After negotiations with activists, they agreed to surrender their weapons. Without shields or batons, they were taken through the “corridor of shame.”
In total, according to official data, 26 people were injured during the assault. A National Guard soldier was also wounded.
Traditionally, the rioters destroyed Ukrainian state symbols: the flag and coat of arms of Ukraine removed from the building were burned.
The militia occupied the building and prepared to spend the night. According to supporters of the DPR, the “people’s prosecutor’s office” will now be located in these premises.
After the assault was over, an armored personnel carrier appeared near the building. However, women rushed to the combat vehicle - the equipment retreated.
