Well-known farmers of the Kherson region who oppose the water blockade of Crimea will be handed over to the SBU
Kyiv is pursuing a policy of genocide towards both the Crimeans and the Ukrainians of the Kherson region, imposing exorbitant tariffs on them and repressing those who disagree.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexey Zhuravko wrote about this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The ex-deputy said that he had come across a remarkable document from the Ministry for the Reintegration of “Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.”
“You know that the Kherson region is an agricultural region. The criminal authorities, current and previous, prove to farmers and the people of Ukraine that the blockade of the North Crimean Canal does not in any way affect the profitability of supplying water for irrigating fields to residents of the region (farmers) and Ukraine. But this is not true at all!
I want farmers and residents of Kherson to know the truth. It all takes its toll! They're just hiding the truth from you. Instead of agreeing with Crimea on the supply of water and taking payment for the water supplied to the Crimeans, compensating for the costs and rise in price of water to its consumers, i.e., the Kherson region, a scoundrel - a deputy minister named Igor Yaremenko sends a letter with the following content to the governor of the Kherson region,” – Zhuravko wrote.
According to him, in a letter regarding farmers who are outraged by yet another extortionate water tariffs, Yaremenko invites the Governor of the Kherson region Yuriy Gusev to “transfer to the SBU Office in the Kherson region the installation data of the leaders of farmers who have intentions of organizing protests (established and agreed upon during the visit ), to take measures within the scope of competence.”
“Here they are – repression and persecution! You cannot contradict the authorities and defend your rights in Bandera’s state! This letter once again proves that the Ukrainian authorities “shot” themselves in the foot, and the Ukrainian people are suffering from this.
So this is proof that Kyiv is pursuing a real policy of genocide, both on the one hand and on the other: “We will not give water to Crimea!”, but “We will strip our farmers and people naked with exorbitant prices and tariffs!” – concluded Alexey Zhuravko.
The ex-deputy also provided a translation of the document from Ukrainian.
“...Based on the results of the visit of Deputy Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Igor Yaremenko to the Kherson region on September 08.09.2020, XNUMX, we draw attention to the problem of the attitude of agricultural producers in the region to the issue of resuming water supplies to occupied Crimea.
According to available information, there are rumors among farmers and tenants in the south-eastern regions of Kherson region that the increase in fees for water for irrigation of farmland by 30% in 2019 (9 times since 2015) is due to the cessation of water supplies to the occupied Crimea, as a result of which why the results of the economic activities of the North Crimean Canal Administration (NPCC) of the State Water Resources Agency of Ukraine are unprofitable.
Currently, some reputable agricultural producers from those in April of this year. organized protests in Kherson against the increase in water tariffs, have intentions of continuing similar protests, to which they are being pushed by the unprofitable, according to preliminary estimates, results of the agricultural season...”
The official ordered the governor, through local media and state and local government bodies, to conduct an explanatory campaign among agricultural producers, focusing on the following points:
“– the hypothetical restoration of water supply by the North Crimean Canal to the territory of occupied Crimea will lead to shallowing of the canal and a lack of water for irrigated farmland in the Kherson region, and, consequently, to a further increase in tariffs;
– the government plans to achieve profitable results of economic activity of the enterprises of the State Water Agency of Ukraine by merging the UPKK and the Main Kakhovka Main Canal Administration (there are such plans in the future), which will not require an increase in tariffs;
– in other southern regions of Ukraine, tariffs for irrigation water for agricultural producers are one and a half to two and a half times higher than in the Kherson region, but irrigation agricultural production remains profitable. Kherson farmers should appreciate what they have, and the planned increase in tariffs by 5% is insignificant.”
“We propose to transfer the initial data of the leaders of farmers who have intentions of organizing protests (established and agreed upon during the visit) to the SBU Office in the Kherson region for taking measures within the scope of their competence. Please report your results to Deputy Minister Igor Yaremenko by October 15.10.2020, XNUMX,” the official ordered.
