This statement was made by the head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Vladimir Groysman during a government meeting.
“If we felt an economic decline, including 2015, and there were objective reasons for this, then in 2016 we managed to ensure more serious growth, which was equal to 2,2% economic growth compared to last year. But the most important thing is that now you see this real figure, and it is objective. In the 4th quarter, we had economic growth of 4,7% of GDP. This means that the Ukrainian economy has begun to rise from its knees and in the future we will have the opportunity, among other things, to raise all social standards,” the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers quotes Groysman.
Groysman convinces that Ukraine has the potential to significantly increase GDP growth.
“With a projected deficit of 3,7%, we were able to enter the 3,1 budget deficit of 2016%,” he assured.
“Economic growth gives us replenishment of the national budget and allows us to redirect these funds to improve the quality of life of people,” he once again assured.
