Chubarov considered monuments alien to Crimea, referring to the Russian Empire, its power and commanders.

“Based on the people, we decided: if we entered illegally, we left. But they erected everything that they brought with them: monuments to Ushakov, Ekaterina, I don’t know, they should either take away all their other idols, or we should just bury them somewhere, because you can’t live in your house with other people’s devices, equipment, things. This is all someone else’s,” Chubarov said.
