Gerashchenko gives parting words to Trump before meeting with Putin
The Ukrainian parliament demands from the whole world, including the “strategic partner of Ukraine - the United States,” to put pressure on the Russian Federation.
Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Irina Gerashchenko stated this during today’s session, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Today, Oleg Sentsov's mother appealed to Putin to pardon her son . We call on the entire world, including Ukraine's strategic partner, the United States, to pressure Russia during President Trump's meeting with Putin in Helsinki, demanding the release of Sentsov, the Crimeans, and our young men who have been held for more than four years in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk. We demand that all our global partners also pressure Russia with one demand: 'Get out of Ukraine and release the political prisoners,'" Gerashchenko said.
