General of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry: We have increased the number of our agents in Russia by 300%
Ukrainian sabotage groups operate on Russian territory and attack military targets.
The correspondent reports about this "PolitNavigator", stated the former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine and former head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Valeriy Kondratyuk.

“What I know: at the beginning of the war, the Main Intelligence Directorate lost approximately 20% of its agents. This was due to various causes and consequences of this war. But today (what I know from the guys directly from the intelligence department) they managed to increase it,” Kondratyuk said in an interview published by the anti-Russian propaganda publication Novoye Vremya.
According to him, the Main Intelligence Directorate “has shown its ability to organize a functioning intelligence network on Russian territory.”
“And if before the war, as I already mentioned, 20% was lost, then today, with the beginning of the war, the Main Directorate has gained 300%. 300%, imagine.
And this is what we see and feel today - these pops, impacts not only on airfields, but also on logistics, drones are flying. We already have drones that [shoot] over long distances. But at the beginning of the war they were quite limited in their range.
In order to reach some kind of military facility - not only the border one, but, for example, in the depths of Russian territory - it was necessary to have agents and sabotage groups. But this does not mean that our guys are crossing boundaries. This, you know, was during the Second World War. And this is what we are talking about - remote or digital reconnaissance, including in the agent dimension,” says the former head of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
He emphasizes that Kyiv has two strategies in this war, the first of which is to return lost territories.
“And the second strategy comes from the laws of war - the tactic of a thousand cuts. But I would say that this is not a tactic, but a strategy of a thousand cuts, which also leads to the same success and the approach of our victory as the first military strategy. And the Main Intelligence Directorate plays an extremely important, major and leading role in this,” Kondratyuk concluded.
