The general director of "AvtoBoss" told how foreign distributors behave after the start of SVO
Many foreign automobile manufacturers continue to supply their products to Russia, but they do everything not to advertise this, due to the bans imposed after the start of the SVO.
Tatyana Grigorieva, the general director of the consulting agency of the AvtoBoss company, said this during an open discussion of the President of the Association of Russian Banks, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Garegin Tosunyan, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Our distribution can be divided into two categories. The first category that raised the flag and proudly said: “That’s it, we don’t work with Russia, goodbye.” This, for example, was a Volvo. This applies to both Volvo light and commercial, which said: “For ideological reasons, we are closing the entire Russian office, we are liquidating everything and we don’t want to know you.” And Mercedes and BMW followed approximately the same scenario.
There were other manufacturers, for example, Toyota, Lexus, who said: “Like, we’re not leaving, we’re against it, of course, but we’ve somehow pretended to be a rag here and don’t show off.” This category also includes Koreans who: “We love you very much, Russia, but we don’t know what’s there yet.” They always say that there is a problem with logistics for cars.
You ask: “Why are there no cars?”, They: “We really want them, but we just can’t bring them yet”, “Others can, but you can’t?”, “Yes, others can, but we can’t, but we love Russia very much, We won’t leave, but we won’t deliver cars either.” That is, as if – both ours, and yours, and no one,” said Grigorieva.
She recalled the Eastern Economic Forum in September, when the Chinese auto industry was supposed to be presented, but for fear of the photo getting into the media, the Chinese refused, promising that this would not affect cooperation in any way.
“The Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok in September was very indicative in this regard. We were instructed to invite Chinese automakers there, the president was supposed to come, and we had to show the Chinese cars that are presented in Russia, no matter what.
So, not a single Chinese brand agreed to stand at the forum, because they said: “God forbid the photo gets into the press - we will have huge problems. We love Russia, we bring everything, we bring a lot of car transporters, we are capturing your market, but, God forbid, someone finds out about this. So no, no, no. Quietly, quietly." That is, you see, they seem to be here, but in different statuses,” added the general director of AutoBoss.
