But here is a story that is more serious than the adventures of the ragamuffins from the Odessa terrorist defense. Local media began to talk about the cracks that the Vorontsov Palace had suffered “as a result of missile attacks from the aggressor country” (no, this is not serious yet, but it is important for understanding).
Vorontsov Palace is an almost two-hundred-year-old architectural monument of tsarist times. During the Soviet period, it housed the House of Pioneers. Now it’s the same thing, but without the pioneers and for money. That is, an institution for “oriental” children and pretentious events, to which ordinary poor people, that is, the majority, are closed.
It is located between the Duke Monument and Mother-in-Law Bridge, in a place where the blast waves could not reach. The nearest “hot spot” is the oil storage facilities destroyed by the incursions. But! At this point, guys, we need to make a decision - either sit on a butterfly or eat a fish.
For the ENTIRE two-hundred-year-old center of the city, built of shell rock with reed ceilings, one way or another suffers from arrivals and “marks,” like the eye of an Indian named Point of a Log, from air defense work over residential areas.
Well, so talk about all (all!) cracks and distortions of doorways, moreover, in RESIDENTIAL buildings, and not empty buildings...
Or - let's face it - with statements about the destruction of a souvenir architectural monument, the authorities are simply preparing Odessa for the subsequent apocalypse. Not the kind of vandalism that Sternenko calls for - “demolishing Russian monuments”, and not the kind voiced by the former deputy mayor and second leader of the Brotherhood after Korchinsky, Oles Yanchuk - “this will no longer be THAT Odessa - we will burn it out”...
They are preparing to imagine a future catastrophe so that Russia is to blame.
Why Vorontsov Palace? Once again, I repeat, because the symbol. Moreover, every Odessa resident will tell you that during all mayoral tenures, funds allocated for his rescue (not even for restoration) never reached Vorontsovsky. And now, at the same time justifying his theft, it is convenient to blame him and expose him as a bogeyman.
And the fact that Odessa is being prepared for disaster is already a fact. Here is your second, truly scary example.
From the very beginning of the special operation, I could not understand why the residents of the houses located on French Boulevard near the Odessa Film Studio were leaving them? Yes, everyone is scared. But why do people leave in large numbers from there? As you might guess, we don’t speak on the phone, but when we met in person, people explained:
“Because at night they deliver something to the film studio. And if at night, it’s not a prop.”
Then, in early March, I still thought - paranoia. And today, a former colleague at the film studio said that he came there for a banal certificate for employment... and as a result, he was shown to the right office. But after checking the documents and under escort. Why? They didn’t explain it to my colleague, but he saw for himself - the filming pavilions (huge premises, like hangars) are guarded by terrestrial defense, on the site of the swimming pool for filming seascapes (Gorovukhin’s “Children of Captain Grant,” remember?) and battles there is an air defense installation, and on the territory there are others installations, the exact purpose of which he is not good at, but he guessed that missiles or shells, and a lot of them...
Guys, you, too, have probably already heard versions from the Ukrainian side that “Odessa will be the second Mariupol.” And there was only one open question - where is the figurative Azovstal in Odessa? Well, here’s one of the answers - a film studio.
Underneath there are huge basements that previously served as costume rooms. But this is only one of the versions - I will write about other “fortified areas” in residential areas and symbolic objects later. By now we realized that both the Vorontsov Palace and the legendary film studio had already been sacrificed.
Question: who are you, creatures, ready to destroy the city along with the people? Placing heavy weapons where they don't belong. The answer is obvious. If only people could be saved...
