European politicians never cease to be amazed at the peace and tranquility in Russian Crimea
At the end of next week, the “Crimean Declaration” will be sent to all parliamentary parties in Slovakia, as well as the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, dedicated to the real state of affairs on the peninsula and calling for respect for the results of the 2014 referendum.
Slovak parliament member Petr Marček, who led a delegation of Slovak politicians and businessmen to Crimea, told Izvestia about this .
The politician admitted that during his trip “he did not encounter any violation of human rights or signs of “occupation.”
“I and other members of our group, in addition to business meetings, communicated with local residents and observed the situation on the peninsula. This is my first trip to Crimea, and I am simply surprised how peaceful and calm everything is here. It’s a pity that Western political elites are trying in every possible way to hinder the development of this region with the help of sanctions,” said Marcek.

Based on the results of the trip, he prepared the “Crimean Declaration”, which he intends to send to all colleagues from parliament, as well as to the Slovak Foreign Ministry.
“I consider it my duty to convey the truth to other Slovak politicians who are afraid or simply do not want to visit the peninsula because of the position of the European Union. Therefore, in the “Crimean Declaration” I will talk about what I saw here. I will also call on my colleagues and our foreign policy department to respect the will of the Crimean people, who made their choice in a difficult situation,” the deputy explained.
He also plans to raise in parliament in September the issue of recognizing the Russian status of Crimea, for which, according to the regulations, the support of at least 15 deputies of the National Council out of 150 is required.
The material indicates that the current status of Crimea is also recognized by the parliamentary opposition party “Kotleba - People's Party of Our Slovakia”.
“From a human point of view, we must respect the decision of the residents of Crimea and not provoke further absolutely unnecessary conflicts,” party spokesman Milan Ugrik told the publication. “Ukraine was collapsed from the outside with the assistance of Western structures, and therefore it is not surprising that part of its population did not want to participate in this war.”
European politicians continue to be amazed by the peace and tranquility in Russian Crimea.
