The European Commissioner in Kyiv announced the worst-case scenario for sanctions against Russia

Kyiv, September 23 (PolitNavigator, Yuriy Kovalchuk) – Sanctions against Russia should not concern the gas issue, as this is related to energy security, said Vice-President of the European Commission Gustave Etinger during a visit to Kyiv.

“Our priority is to avoid any negative scenarios. And therefore, in the list of sanctions we are planning, daily activities related to gas supply are not at the beginning, but at the end of this list. We must understand that gas supplies and gas prices must be kept beyond the crisis and must not be used as a weapon. Although, thanks to the energy security strategy, we are ready to act even if the worst-case scenario develops,” Etinger said.
