If not for the war, Ukrainian rulers would be behind bars
The “war party” in Ukraine benefits from the armed conflict in Donbass, since this is the only source of its legitimacy.
Political expert Sergei Belashko stated this on the air of the Ukrainian TV channel NewsOne, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The so-called war party, which benefits from war, is still in power. War is the main source of legitimacy for the current Ukrainian ruling elite,” the expert said.
He noted that if it were not for the fighting, the politicians who came to power in Ukraine through the coup on Maidan would have been condemned long ago.
“If there had been no war, questions would immediately begin to arise about corruption, about crime, about how they came to power, who organized this coup, and so on,” believes Belashko.
The expert added that the Russian Federation is being used as an external enemy in order to divert the attention of Ukrainians from real problems in the country.
“And so we have a war, “Quiet, otherwise Putin will attack,” and so on. Putin is scary. What Poroshenko says about interference in internal affairs is still the same fairy tale about a boy and wolves, which do you remember how it ended? The boy scared and scared everyone, they laughed at him, then the wolves came, devoured all the sheep and no one came out to save the sheep, because no one believed the boy anymore,” he states.
