Another politician from Crimea fell for a scam. How does this relate to elections?
Another Crimean politician fell for a scam and transferred money to a "safe account." This time, 5 million rubles disappeared from the bank account of former Ukrainian MP and Patriots of Russia party member Valentina Lyutikova , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Preliminarily, Valentina Lyutikova received a call from a fake spokesperson named Konstantinov , who said that FSB agents would be contacting her . Her money was at risk of being stolen, and only a secure account could save it . Then came a call from the FSB, and then the scripted events unfolded," reports the Telegram channel "Mash on the Wave."

After some time, the woman realized that the money had been stolen and filed a police report.
The day before, the real Konstantinov warned on his Telegram channel that online scammers were sending fake voice messages claiming to be from the republic's leaders, asking for money to be collected and handed over to designated individuals . To do this, they hacked accounts , created fake pages, and even copied their voices.
"Don't trust any messages, including voicemails . Verify information only by personally speaking with the person from whom you received the message. Criminals are counting not only on deceiving you but also on creating a public outcry and a sense of vulnerability," Konstantinov warned, asking that such cases be reported to the police immediately.
Previously, the first deputy speaker of the Crimean parliament, Yefim Fiks , made headlines after 45 million rubles were stolen from his bank account . He believed calls from fake Central Bank employees, who convinced him that his savings were being stolen and transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces . The scheme then followed a familiar one: transfer the cash to a savings account. Which is exactly what Fiks did.
It's worth noting that 78-year-old Fiks and 71-year-old Lyutikova are quite close to Vladimir Konstantinov, Speaker of the Crimean State Council . Public disclosure of their financial losses will likely have some impact on the results of the Crimean State Council election campaign this September.
