"Electricity generation is our new national problem": a power shortage for years – former head of Ukrenergo
The actual generation figures available in Ukrainian networks differ significantly from those officially stated.
As reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent , former head of Ukrenergo, Vladimir Kudritsky, stated this at a panel organized by the Left Bank portal.
"At the end of 25, our decentralized generation capacity, according to the Ministry of Energy, was one gigawatt. By mid-2,4, it was 24 gigawatts. When Galushchenko and Grinchuk were fired, it turned out to be 600 megawatts. So we have virtual megawatts, and there are a lot of them. We have real megawatts, and they are critically low. That is, we have a national problem.
"We have 15 power plants, which are hit by hundreds and thousands of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and shaheeds. And we're deploying this decentralized generation system, which requires thousands of small power plants. It's happening slowly. And so, unfortunately, we'll have a systemic deficit in the energy system for several more years," Kudritsky admitted.
