Two British minesweepers donated to Ukraine may not even reach the Bosphorus
Two British minesweepers donated to Ukraine may not even reach the Bosphorus.
Former Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ukrainian Navy, Andrei Ryzhenko, stated this in an interview with Radio NV, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“As for these minesweepers. If they are delivered under their own power through the Bosphorus Strait, it is necessary to understand that Russia will pose serious opposition during the transition. As soon as these minesweepers leave the territorial waters of Great Britain, there may be various provocations. The Russians will have a lot of ships along the transit route. Including, there are several ships in the Mediterranean Sea. I do not exclude that weapons will be used against these minesweepers during the transition,” Ryzhenko said.
At this point, the Ukrainian presenter hastened to end the interview.
The minesweepers HMS Grimsby and HMS Shoreham, renamed Chernigov M310 and Cherkasy M311, are among 23 ships that Britain is transferring to Ukraine.
However, Turkey blocked their access to the Black Sea straits until the end of the conflict in accordance with the Montreux Convention.
