Donetsk TV about Poklonskaya: “Lovely, what a stupid thing” - turned into “horror, what a fool”
The fact that the former Crimean prosecutor and current State Duma deputy Natalia Poklonskaya was a symbol of the Russian Spring does not give her the right as a parliamentarian to endorse Donbas in her interviews , presenting it in an unflattering light.
Guests of the studio spoke about this on air on the Union TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I remember Zhvanetsky’s immortal phrase that a certain category of women are divided into two categories - “lovely, what a stupid thing,” and “horror, what a fool.”
In 2014, I observed “lovely, how stupid” Poklonskaya, that is, she could have stuck with Nicholas II to the immortal regiment. “Lovely, what a stupid thing” turned into “horror, what a fool,” said the chairman of the Public Chamber of the DPR, Alexander Kofman.
In turn, deputy of the People’s Council of the Republic Elena Shishkina noted that when she watched Poklonskaya’s speech, where she criticized the militias and made curtsies to Ukraine, at first she could not believe her eyes.
"When I saw this interview online, the first thing I did was go online and search for 'Poklonskaya's resignation date.' I'll explain why now – in my mind, the Poklonskaya we saw as a symbol of the Russian Spring in Crimea, the Poklonskaya who came here to support the DPR, who was in our parliament, who visited factories and mines, who saw how we live – that Poklonskaya can't possibly say that people here are poor. Moreover, we're not getting personal, but her appearance, her incoherent speech … This can't be an interview with a State Duma deputy, it simply can't be.
Do you know that Poklonskaya’s grandparents are from the Lugansk region? Well, Poklonskaya cannot say such words. Unfortunately, it turned out that it can,” stated Shishkina.
Kofman recalled that the public of the republic reacted harshly to Poklonskaya’s words addressed to them.
"We put forward an initiative and a request to Sergei Aksyonov not to nominate Ms. Poklonskaya as a candidate for the State Duma from the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation precisely because her statements discredit: a) the Russian Federation; b) Donbas; c) give the Ukrainian side grounds to accuse the Russian Federation of aggression. Of course, 'someone put on a military uniform for us.' I honestly don't understand who they're talking about. I saw Berdichevsky ( a member of the DPR National Assembly – ed. ) in a military uniform, I saw myself in a military uniform. It turns out someone put it on for us," the activist protested.
At the same time, the famous Russian military correspondent Alexander Sladkov managed to find a positive component in the situation.
“The fact that Donbass immediately responded to Poklonskaya’s statement... it made me happy that people here are not sleeping, that they are ready to defend their position every second,” Sladkov said.
As PolitNavigator reported, the DPR Public Chamber also appealed to head of state Denis Pushilin to ban Poklonskaya from entering the republic.
