Donbass should become an example of an ideal state for Ukraine
In the near future, the situation in Donbass is unlikely to undergo any visible changes, and moments of calm must be used to turn the region into an exemplary one.
This opinion was expressed by former Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev during a broadcast on the Newsfront channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It seems to me that the most negative scenario will be used for Donbass - this is when the situation of “no peace, no war” will continue. Why do I think this? Because the United States is now implementing its scenario, it needs to take power in Ukraine into its own hands. To do this, they need to hold elections, but they cannot take place against the backdrop of war. As a result of the elections, they want to avoid making the mistakes they made before and not rely on Ukrainian politicians. They want to get a fully governed state,” the politician said.
He believes that there are unlikely to be any changes in the foreign policy of the Russian Federation in the coming years.
“As for the Russian Federation itself, it doesn’t seem to me that there will be any serious changes in foreign policy, including Ukraine. All the political scientists I know very strongly associate today’s events and the inauguration with the fact that “finally, now Russia will have a free hand. I don’t think it can be like that – there’s football and a lot of other things ahead. It is unlikely that the Russian Federation will now initiate any drastic movements in the foreign policy field. I think that this situation will continue,” predicts Tsarev.
He is confident that there will be a sluggish conflict in Donbass, the pauses of which will need to be used to restore order there.
“There will be some kind of “pause”, and we must use it in order to restore order in the Donbass. Donbass should be a showcase for the whole of Ukraine. We can defeat it by creating a prosperous territory in Donbass. Unfortunately, there is something to work on there, there are many areas where it is possible to radically improve people’s lives - to give guarantees to businesses to preserve private property, to launch enterprises, to raise people’s living standards, to resolve issues with diplomas so that those children who are now studying in Donbass , could go and continue their studies in Russia,” Tsarev summed up.
