“They got caught”: Petro Poroshenko paid his own money to pet a koala
Kyiv, December 25 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Semenyuta) – The lack of money in the state budget is pushing senior government officials to take actions that are risky from the point of view of the state’s reputation.
President Petro Poroshenko, as an individual, paid for a flight during a state visit, likely to Australia. This was stated by Serhiy Berezenko, head of the State Administration under the President, in an interview with the League .

"Yes. We had a flight where the President, as an individual, signed an agreement with the State Airlines and paid for his flight as part of a state visit. We consulted with lawyers and they confirmed that this is possible,” the official said.
The desire to “pet the koala” exceeded the well-known “frugality” of Petro Poroshenko. “This is not because I wanted to boast, “I can do this,” but because there really is no money: for the last two weeks, the State Treasury has greatly limited payments,” says Chief Berezenko’s action in a positive light.
The state administration intends to earn money by using the state property entrusted to it. “This year we received an additional AN-148 aircraft. A regular board has 50-60 seats. We have made this flight a commercial activity; anyone can order a charter. The service is in demand, for example, among football teams. Soon we will receive another plane, Kambin’s decree on this matter is already ready. You can earn up to 10 million UAH a year from this,” says Berezenko.
