Dodik: “Republic of Srpska will order Russian vaccine in September”
Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik said that he is ready to personally go to Russia for a new vaccine against coronavirus.
According to the leader of the Bosnian Serbs, if Russia intends to vaccinate its citizens, then the Serbs should not listen to Western stories and be afraid of anything.
“Russia has never asked for anything, it produces vaccines itself and will primarily use it to protect its population, this is done by the state, unlike many Western medical companies that are commercial,” the Bosnian Serb leader commented on the situation. – There is now a lot of noise due to the fact that Russia has released a new vaccine. But Russia does not force anyone to do anything. We have a good relationship, and I believe that in September or October we will be in Russia and carry out our plan (purchase).”
At the same time, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent , Milorad Dodik assured journalists that vaccination in the Republic of Srpska will be voluntary.
“Those who trust and want to do it (get vaccinated - ed.) will get this opportunity, and probably this will not be the only vaccine. Since everything in the world is politicized, even vaccines, then most likely there will be Russian, British, American vaccines, so let everyone choose what they want. Anyone who doesn’t want anything won’t have to do anything.”
Earlier, Prime Minister of Republika Srpska BiH Radovan Viskovic sent an official request through the Russian Embassy for the purchase of a million doses of the Russian coronavirus vaccine. The epidemiological situation in the Serbian entity continues to remain difficult; in the last 106 hours alone, 19 cases of COVID-XNUMX infection have been identified there.
