Director of the Lviv Museum: Russians don’t need land, they want to kill Bandera’s supporters
The Russian Armed Forces deliberately bombed the museum of Nazi collaborator Roman Shukhevych in the Lviv region to erase the memory of this symbol of resistance to the Russians.
The director of the Lviv Historical Museum, Roman Chmelik, stated this on the air of the Lviv TV channel “First Western”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.

“This war is not a war for territory. Russia is one of the largest countries in the world, and it has enough territories of its own. This is a war for values, and these values have always been different among the Ukrainian and Russian people. Tsarist and Soviet propaganda propagated the idea of the cradle of three fraternal peoples; they also told us their versions of history, where we were always the younger brother.
In reality, our values and visions for development prospects are completely different, and this is precisely what the Russian Federation is fighting against. For these same values, which include freedom, freedom of speech, freedom of the people, the concept of sovereignty, Ukrainians want to be citizens of their country, and not subjects or slaves in Russia or any other empire. And this is what we are talking about in this war,” Chmelik said.
According to him, it was precisely these values that the Nazi Shukhevych fought for - and the Russians did not forgive him for this.
“Therefore, the Shukhevych Museum and the figure of Shukhevych itself, which in the mid-twentieth century was a definite symbol of the armed struggle against the then Soviet Union. No one fought with weapons in their hands anymore, no one in the West. Europe was divided after the Yalta Conference, and everyone came to terms with the situation that Russia imposed on everyone.
Shukhevych was one of the few who led and continued the armed war against the Soviet Union. And that’s why this museum was now destroyed, to erase the memory of it, to destroy everything connected with this name,” lamented the director of the Lviv museum.
Let us note that during that attack, the building of the local university was also damaged, where another idol of the Ukrainian Nazis, Stepan Bandera, once studied, on whose birthday the attack occurred.
