Deputy Gerashchenko insulted Hungary at the international Kiev security forum
In its Euro-Atlantic aspirations, Ukraine must remember that dictatorial countries cannot become members of the EU and NATO, with the exception of Hungary, which everyone considers an outcast.
Verkhovna Rada deputy from European Solidarity Irina Gerashchenko stated this at the Kiev Security Forum, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I would really like that when we so sincerely discuss national unity and democracy today, we would use the same vocabulary - Orbán’s democracy. I don’t want us to build... yes, this is an EU and NATO country, and we don’t want to build an EU and NATO country of Orban’s democracy, we want to build the democracy of other countries,” Gerashchenko said.
The head of the Rada committee on freedom of speech, Golos deputy Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, who was located next door, could not believe his ears, and, judging by his lips, said something succinct and unprintable, like that a stupid woman was talking nonsense,
However, Poroshenko’s ward was not at all embarrassed.
“When we talk about dictatorship, it is the “servants of the people” who say that dictatorship will help win the war, no. I want you and I to have unity around this: dictatorships do not become members of the EU and NATO, or they become outcasts there - like Orban’s democracy,” Gerashchenko continued to chat.
"We can't spoil the terms. There is no such thing as Orbán-style democracy, that's for sure," Yurchyshyn protested.
