Denazification will cover the entire external perimeter of Russia - Chadayev on Putin’s interview with Carlson
After President Putin’s interview with journalist Tucker Carlson, Western and domestic liberal audiences made the main conclusion - a modern educated person should not know history so that there is no reason for military action.
Political scientist Alexei Chadayev expressed this opinion on the air of the First Sevastopol channel, reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
“I read a large feed of responses and comments to Putin’s interview on the banned Radio Liberty website. And their main message is this: how deeply immoral it is, how sinful and criminal it is to be so deeply interested in history. This leads to the dredging up of old disputes, old grievances and, ultimately, to war. And a normal educated modern person should not be interested in history. Our liberal elite, and not only ours, have many such comments in the West. This is how they comment on Putin’s historical excursion.
For my part, I would also note that our president mentioned Novgorod, in which, in fact, the establishment of Russian statehood took place, and from where Oleg launched his campaign against Kyiv. And such a little-noticed jab at the Ukrainian propaganda narrative that Kyiv is the mother of Russian cities, and from there the Russian land came. No, the Russian land still came from Novgorod. This is about these fashionable historical disputes,” the expert emphasized.
The second point that the expert drew attention to was the project of the Polish politician Jozef Pilsudski called “Prometheism”. This project was intended to unite representatives of the Russian white emigration from different regions of Russia and the Caucasus and make of them the core of nationalism for the struggle for the independence of the main non-Russian peoples in the USSR. “Prometheism” was closely associated with the concept of “Intermarium” and the revival of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
“The Japanese didn’t buy it then, but the Germans did in one form or another, and it’s still working. Therefore, when we are now talking about denazification, I would place the emphasis, perhaps, not even on German Nazism, not on the history of the Second World War, but on where local radical nationalism came from. And they, of course, were a political project, first and foremost. It seems to me that now this piece needs to be analyzed in more detail, in an extreme, interesting way, given that the Intermarium project has not gone away, as an alternative and counterbalance to Russia. And this belt, consisting of the most aggressive anti-Russian regimes, has also not gone away. It seems to me that this piece of history is as relevant as possible in connection with the declared denazification - and will receive a completely unexpected new dimension,” Chadayev concluded.
