Onishchenko filed a lawsuit against the decision of the Central Election Commission, which previously refused to register him as a candidate due to the fact that he had not lived in Ukraine for the last 5 years.

“In his autobiography as a candidate, he wrote that from 2016 to the present he has been outside the state because he allegedly represented Ukraine at equestrian competitions “as a rider.” In confirmation, Onishchenko gave a letter from the public organization “All-Ukrainian Equestrian Federation of Ukraine”. The court accepted his arguments and granted the petition,” the publication writes.

“The panel of judges notes that these documents confirm the validity of the reasons for Onishchenko’s departure from Ukraine from 2016 to the present,” the court’s decision says.

Onishchenko himself confirmed the information on his Facebook page, writing: “I received good news today.”

Let us remind you that recently People's Deputy Alexander Onishchenko, who fled from Ukraine, announced that he intends to return and take part in early parliamentary elections in the 93rd district in the Kyiv region.

Alexander Onishchenko fled Ukraine and is wanted, although Interpol refused to put him on the international wanted list. According to NABU, Onishchenko and his associates sold gas to the state enterprise Ukrgasvydobuvannya with the help of several of their companies through “pseudo exchanges,” which caused damage to the state amounting to more than 1,613 billion hryvnia.
