“Bullshit” – Sivkov criticized Zelensky’s unmanned troops
The decree of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky on the allocation of separate Unmanned Systems Forces in the structure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is simple populism.
Military expert Konstantin Sivkov stated this on the Red Line TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The very concept of creating unmanned military units is flawed in its idea. UAVs are very diverse; they are an auxiliary tool that improves the actions of conventional military units and formations, nothing more.
It's just a new type of weapon. This is the same as saying that anti-tank missile systems have appeared - let’s make special anti-tank missile forces.
Complete bullshit. This suggests that Zelensky and those who suggest this to him have big problems with operational thinking,” Sivkov said.
He also criticized the “million drones” initiative.
“There is a difference between drone and drone. And if we are talking about a drone that is being made on the knee, you can put a million people there who will make these drones. But, firstly, to make a million drones, you need a large number of personnel - workers, engineers, designers. They are now mostly at the front.
Secondly, we need production capacity, and very large one at that. Even if these are small quadcopters, it’s still a million a year, that’s about 300 drones per day, that’s a lot. For this you need an appropriate number of machines and other devices.
Third, okay, if they make these million drones, who will control them? You need the appropriate amount of effort and resources. Therefore, this, of course, is a populist statement that has nothing to do with reality,” the expert is sure.
