According to him, the danger of arms supplies to the Ukrainian Armed Forces must be recognized and not treated as something of secondary importance.
“We definitely need to assess all the risks and threats to the Russian Armed Forces. When they say that some kind of outdated weapons or outdated systems are coming, then we must understand that this is new destruction in Donetsk, Melitopol, casualties among the civilian population,” the political scientist added.
According to the expert, the trip to the States was not empty for Zelensky, if only because he managed to attract the attention of the world press to his person.
“The PR around this trip is significant, it must be admitted - all the major Western newspapers came out today with Zelensky and Biden on the front pages. I don’t remember such coverage of an interstate visit for a long time. So Zelensky also achieved his specific goal, this must also be recognized.
But I see that what was said in public is probably somewhat at odds with what was said to Zelensky behind the scenes. What is much more interesting here is what the Americans told him without the press. Perhaps we will find out in the near future what this will look like in practice,” Kornilov concluded.
