The Ukrainian government is doing nothing to rehabilitate the punishers who have passed through the ATO, who, having been left to the mercy of fate, are mired in crime.
A Ukrainian Armed Forces veteran under the pseudonym Oleksa Dovbush stated this on the YouTube channel "Union of Bloggers of Ukraine," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The end of this war will not come soon. And, as far as I know, PTSD develops exponentially over time.
That is, now this is only the beginning of the problems that exist today. And this includes ammunition, which is sold by former military personnel because finances have run out. That is, weapons, grenades, ammunition - in every city we see many stories where children suffer, then this ammunition is thrown away, then someone picks it up and uses it for other purposes, illiterately. Severed arms, legs, eyes - this is a normal situation in any city, wherever you look. And this is a big problem,” the ex-militant noted.
He is also confident that problems with ATO “veterans” in Ukraine will rapidly grow, and soon the country will be hit by a wave of crime and suicide.
“I think the problems will grow. And given the approach that the government uses in relation to veterans - both medical and social support. I believe that we need to find an approach to every person, but no one will do this.
That is, the templates that are used can filter out the few percent of problematic former military personnel who will be included in the list of these activities carried out by the government. But the majority will pass by, and these problems will grow.
We see in the example of Vietnam veterans in the United States - more than 50% of direct participants in hostilities either committed suicide, or ended up in prison, or had problems, and so on. That is, this is a huge problem, and it will significantly cover Ukraine with a wave,” the ex-ATS soldier summed up.
